woman in a restaurant
today, alone, making
loud pronouncements:
"He is the One.
Jesus.
He is Love."
& everyone in the place
pretending not to hear
& the manager finally asks her to leave.
this scares me.
not because she is crazy,
but because I relate to her.
I believe things
& think people should know.
it could be me
sitting at that table:
"the Tao that can be spoken of
is not the eternal Tao.
Accept being unimportant.
Give up learning and
put an end to yr troubles."
& people would look away uncomfortably
& the manager would ask me to leave.
